Trice Street Stew Sept. 9
The annual Trice Street Stew will be Saturday, Sept. 9, at 543 & 563 Trice Street (homes of Darlene Jones and Matilda Massengill). If you would like to participate, please bring all meat donations on Friday, Sept. 8, and all vegetables before 8 a.m. Saturday morning. Stew should be ready to serve around 2 p.m. Bring your own containers. Come and enjoy the fellowship and games.

Finger Barbeque and Picnic Sept. 16
The 128th Annual Finger Barbeque and Picnic will be Saturday, Sept. 16. There will be party jumpers for the kids, homemade ice cream and baked goods, live music and a parade at 10:30 a.m. Whole hog barbeque and chicken will be served. For more information, call 731-616-5625. All proceeds go to the Finger Volunteer Fire Dept.

CC Retired Teachers Meeting Sept. 20
Chester County Retired Teachers will meet at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Snookum’s Restaurant. The sponsor is First Bank. The service project is monetary donations to the Dr. Ronald Johnson Memorial Scholarship. Johny Farris and Brandon Connor with the Chester County Emergency Services will present the program. They will tell about services provided and how seniors can be emergency ready. Please make plans to attend and invite any retired teacher, teacher assistant, administrator, staff personnel, or bus driver as a guest. 


CCHS Basketball Golf Scramble Sept. 22
Chester County High School Basketball is hosting the “Golf Scramble” Golf Tournament at 9 a.m. on Sept. 22. The tournament will be held at Chickasaw Golf Course. It costs $300 per team. Make checks payable to CCHS Basketball. If you have any questions, contact Collin McPherson at 731-879-9363.


BBQ Festival Pig Trot Sept. 23
The Chester County BBQ Festival Pig Trot 5k/1 mile sponsored by FirstBank will be Saturday, Sept. 23, at No Xcuse Fitness, 123 Front ST, Henderson. Registration starts at 7:15 a.m. and the race begins at 8 a.m. Pre-registration entry fees are $25 for the 5k and $20 for the 1 Mile by Sept. 5. After Sept. 5, add $5. T-Shirt is included with pre-registration. Register on RaceRoster.com or obtain a registration form at FirstBank (main branch) or No Xcuse Fitness.
