BBQ Festival Pig Trot
Sept. 24

The Chester County BBQ Festival Pig Trot 5k/1 mile sponsored by FirstBank will be Saturday, Sept. 24, at No Xcuse Fitness, 123 Front ST, Henderson. Registration starts at 7:15 a.m., and the race begins at 8 a.m.  Pre-registration entry fees are $25 for the 5k and $20 for the 1 Mile by Sept. 4. After Sept. 4 add $5. T-Shirt is included with pre-registration. Register on RaceRoster.com or obtain a registration form at FirstBank (main branch) or No Xcuse Fitness.

Book Signing Sept. 24

Join local author Sally Kilpatrick for a Q&A regarding her experience as a writer and about her book “Much Ado About Barbecue” from 10 -10:30 a.m. Sept. 24. at the Chester County Library. She will be signing books from 10:30 -11 a.m. Books will be available for purchase.

Mifflin Day Oct. 1
Mifflin Day will be Oct. 1. Come enjoy all you can eat stew and live music. Stew will be available for purchase for $20 a gallon; please bring a container. 

CC Historical Society
Meeting Oct. 3

The Chester County Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 3 at the Senior Center. The evening speaker will be John Talbot, and the topic to be announced. This is your place if you are interested in history and good company. All are welcome.

Henderson Church of God Stew/Chili Sale Oct. 8
The Henderson Church of God will have a stew/chili sale at Cash Saver on Oct. 8. Stew/chili will be ready at 11:30 a.m. with baked goods available beginning at 8 a.m. Cost for stew is $20/gal., $10/half gal., $5/quart and $3 pint or bowl. Cost for chili is $18/gal., $10/half gal., $5 quart and $3 pint or bowl. Bring your own containers or $1.50 for container. Fall Rummage Sale
Oct. 12-15

The Freed-Hardeman University Associates will be holding their Fall Rummage Sale Oct. 12-15 at the National Guard Armory, 759 E. Main St., Henderson. Times for the sale are as follows: 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, and Thursday, Oct. 13 (all items full price); 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 (all items half price); 7:30 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 15 (bag day - fill a 13 gallon bag for $5 or a 30 gallon bag for $10).
