The Chester County Junior High Lady Eagles soccer team turned in a dominant performance Tuesday night, defeating Lexington 5–1 on their home field.
The first half saw back-and-forth action, with Callie Lowrance assisting Lucy Deweese for the opening goal. Lexington responded with a score of their own, but the Eagles regained momentum when Nevaeh Jones fired in a powerful shot from outside the 18-yard box. Chester County entered halftime with a 2–1 lead.
In the second half, the Eagles came out with renewed intensity and quickly pulled away. Lowrance netted a goal of her own, followed by a strike from Elizabeth Rushing. Lowrance then added her second goal of the night, sealing the 5–1 win.
Head Coach praised the team’s turnaround after a slow start:
“We started off slow in the first half. Nevaeh Jones had a great shot from outside the 18 to end the half. We started the second half with much more intensity, and I was proud of them for that adjustment. Estrella Ortiz and Hannah Cook dominated on the back line and played a vital role in keeping the ball out of our half. That allowed our midfielders and forwards to maintain possession. Overall, it was a good game!”
With the win, the Lady Eagles continue to build momentum early in their season, showing both strong offensive firepower and a disciplined defensive effort.
