A very pleasant night of fellowship was had at Silerton Baptist Church this past Friday. Soups and sandwiches were served, followed by Silerton’s own Spinner (a dominos game) Winter Olympics. There was a “Miracle on Ice” moment reminiscent of the U.S. hockey team’s victory over Russia in the 1980 Winter Olympics. A very exciting evening, as Grady Stack (Russia), the notorious, long reigning powerhouse, was barely defeated by newcomer to the game, Steve Emerson. Steve is the husband Grady’s baby sister, Janice, who also played. We hope this does not lead to any familial strife or future boycotting.
On Saturday, Marcus Fry attended a genealogy workshop taught by Lisa Hansen and held at the Chester County Public Library in Henderson. It was a very good introduction to the study. Discussed were the different ways to organize one’s genealogy, and several useful internet sites were mentioned along with a list of sites in the handout. An example of a presentation binder and poster were shown. I highly recommend it.
On the goat front: Signs of Spring. Seven kids were birthed. Alas, one did not survive, the runt of a set of triplets. One of the other triplets is very weak and will have to be fed in the hope that it survives. The real work starts now in keeping all six alive along with the other births to come. A large cat, and we do not mean a fat house cat, was spotted. Just one of the many perils they will face.
Continued prayers for the families of Janet Lambert and Raylene Jacobs.
