Judy Dillard and Birdie Jones traveled to Tunica, Miss., for the Righteous Brothers’ (Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield) concert. In addition to the good music, they were very humorous. The one-month younger Bill Medley had his birthday on Sept. 19, making both “Brothers” 83 years old.

Larry and Anita Lambert and Don and Frances Willis took a road trip. They traveled across Tennessee up through Virginia where they stopped to visit the Natural Bridge. They went on to Maryland, stopping along the way and driving through all the underwater tunnels. Daily for lunch, they found neat picnic areas. Then, it was on to New Jersey where they stayed in Cape May. New Jersey completed Frances’ visit to all 50 states. The other three had already been to all the states. They rode the Cape May-Lewes Ferry 17 miles across the Delaware Bay. They then traveled down through Delaware back to Virginia and enjoyed the Blue Ridge Mountains. They saw a very impressive Veteran memorial before entering the Cumberland Gap Tunnel, a modern engineering marvel designed to protect the Cumberland Gap and provide safe travels. The group stopped in Jonesboro, Tennessee’s oldest town before ending the trip with a visit to Pall Mall to see the home of Sargent Alvin York, which was on Anita’s bucket list.
