Once again it is time for the Sweetlips Stew/Bake Sale. The stew will be Feb. 12 with a snow date of Feb. 19. As always we are asking for donations of beef roast to go in the stew. We know that prices have gone up on everything, but this is our once a year fundraiser . If we do not have help from friends and neighbors, it would not be as successful.
Those who are cooking roast should debone them and leave it in its own juices. Bring them to the community center on Friday, Feb. 11, and set them on table in a non-returnable container if possible. If not, make sure your container has your name on it.
To all the ladies and gents who bake, we ask for cakes, pies, cookies, breads, etc., for the bake sale. You may drop those off Friday night. Please put your name and what the item is on your non-returnable container.
The stew will be ready by 10 a.m. The cost is $20. You may preorder by calling Neal Kinchen at 989-7342, JoAnn Greer at 989-7523, Cindy Springer at 989-7046 or Dianne Williams at 608-2583.
It is very important you remember you must bring your own container for your stew. Hope to see you there! Almost forgot - the potato peeling will be Friday evening about 4:30 p.m. Bring your sharp knife and join us. Please remember your mask.
Dianne Williams will open to prepare income taxes Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. for walk-ins. For appointments or to drop off papers, call 608-2583.
Remember all the sick. There are so many with COVID, stomach virus, bad colds, and other ailments. Pray for Dude and Mike Russell, Frances Brooks, Wendell and Donna Murphy, Neal and Nancy Kinchen, Kathy Ivy, Joan Phillips, Cindy Springer, Amanda Lawson, Avery Todd, and all the shut-ins.
Thanks to everyone who cooked and served for the family of Tammy Barton. The family so appreciated it. Remember them as they have a long road before them. Also, prayers for Bob and Betsy Russell on the loss of their oldest daughter, Jonez Russell, Tapley, Hazlett.
Remember the McEarl, Collins, Sisk and Russell families. We have lost one of the dearest mother, sister, special aunt and, for all who knew her, a tremendous friend. You will be so missed, Patsy McEarl Collins. All these three have just completed the circle of life laid out by God from the first breath they drew.

Thought of the week: Do things for people not because of who they are or what they do in return but because of who you are.
