Even those who do not read much poetry are probably familiar with Robert Frost. When I walk in the woods in Silerton on these cold, winter evenings, I feel as if the poet has meandered down just such a path. I hope his imagery reminds you of the loveliness of the nature around you, even during these overcast and windy days we are having. I share his poem below.
“Whose woods these are I think I know/His house is in the village though/He will not see me stopping here/To watch his woods fill up with snow/My little horse must think it queer/To stop without a farmhouse near/Between the woods and frozen lake/The darkest evening of the year/He gives his harness bells a shake/To ask if there is some mistake/The only other sound’s the sweep/Of easy wind and downy flake/The woods are lovely, dark and deep/But I have promises to keep/And miles to go before I sleep/And miles to go before I sleep.”
Happy birthday to all the January babies out there!
The Beshires and I celebrated my birthday this year at Asahi in Jackson. The kids had so much fun watching the chef cook hibachi and entertain us with volcanoes and spatula twirling.
Otto turned four on Jan. 31. We were fortunate to have family visit for his birthday party. The theme he wanted this year was rockets. It was fun to decorate with outer space decorations. Guests enjoyed cake and space ice-cream as well as regular ice cream.
