A big shout out goes to the Silerton mayor and town aldermen and volunteers for all the hard work they have already put in this year! Lots of good town developments are in the works. During the last town meeting, aldermen discussed park developments, Christmas decorations and road improvements. The park slide has been ordered and should be installed sometime in the fall. The town is also in the process of gathering bids and taking steps towards a walking trail. This Christmas, the bulk of the decorations and street lights will be focused on downtown Silerton (in other words, bridge to bridge). Everyone will still have a street light who had one in the past, but the center of town will be concentrated on more heavily so that we can light up bigger and brighter than ever before! Additionally, the mayor and aldermen are working with the county in hopes to improve road conditions going up Mayfield hill. Good news on the city hall. Renovations are now completed.
One of Silerton’s bridges is going to be dedicated to Mrs. Phyllis Naylor. A sign has been ordered but a ceremony date has not yet been set. Stay tuned for more details on honoring Mrs. Phyllis and her years of service to the town.
