Good day to all! Today is Saturday, Feb. 26. The sky is gray, and it is 38 degrees. We have several birds visiting, including our yellow finches. We are very happy they are back, but the little fellers are hungry! I guess it is all this rain we have had and flooded areas; it makes sense to me if they eat from the ground - ha. We have surely had a lot of rain! I know we need it, and this week the temperatures are supposed to be great! It will really give many of us the “itch” to get outside and prepare for spring. A landscaper told us several years ago that if we put out pre-emerge the last of February or the first of March it would help with weeds as the year progresses. We plan on doing that this week. I am so looking forward to SPRING this year. It seems I am excited about it more this year than ever. So much beauty and new life to see. I am very thankful for the blessings of life.
The invasion of Ukraine is atrocious! I cannot imagine living in the fear they are dealing with, and I am praying here in the United States that neither I nor my family ever has to live like that or hear air raids going off! Absolute terror. Please pray for ALL those affected by the actions of evil and for those fighting for protection. My one hope and belief is that God will make everything right in His time. It is not always the way we want it, but we either become bitter or better. I have learned through my journey thus far that patience IS a virtue and leaning on God is an absolute necessity. I pray for nonbelievers, too. I can not imagine what life would be like without Him. After losing our son, I nearly lost my mind, and sometimes I wonder how much of my mind is left. Many things are not there, but I think God helps us deal with things that way. Those that are going through the invasion will go through horrors and loss and many that do know God may wonder how He could do this. He does not do it, but He allows it. Now, as to why, we may never know, but one day this world will end as we know it, and we MUST keep the faith. God is our PEACE. I am human and still worry and get upset at times, but for the most part, I just pray and know EVERYTHING is in God’s hands. We do not have control over ONE thing! Peace, joy and contentment can be found in Him alone. I am not trying to preach, but my life basically is geared towards thankfulness for blessings and telling others about God. I know one day we will see our son again. Until then, I pray to please my Lord. HE is EVERYTHING to me, and in the end, I hope to hear, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
Bandit, Billy Joe Seaton’s furbaby, is like everyone else - tired of being stuck inside. He is growing up and is a very pretty boy. He is a black and white mixed breed of medium size. Some more friends have a wire haired Fox terrier named Bandit. He is a little larger than a medium dog and very friendly. He enjoys our visits, and we love him. He is a beautiful boy, and then we have our little silver poodle, Pepper. He is such a joy. These pets give so much love and more. I know since Billy Joe’s wife passed Bandit has really been a blessing to him as Pepper has been for us (me) since Nick died. They are so smart. If I am feeling down, somehow Pepper just knows, and before long, here comes a smile. Thank God for pets. I do hope and pray animal abusers are severely punished by God. So we are blessed with one and know two more. Life is good.
I also saw on Facebook that Chick-fil-A is coming to Henderson through Freed-Hardeman. They are in the planning stage now and hope to have it up and running by Fall of 2023. I am thankful for additional business in our town and thank Freed-Hardeman for their endeavors to help this come to fruition.

“Pathways” – “Memory builds a little pathway that goes winding through my heart/It’s lovely, quiet, gentle trail from other things apart/I only meet when traveling there the folks I like the best/For this road I call remembrance is hidden from the rest/But I hope I’ll always find you in my memory rendezvous/For I keep this little secret place to meet with folks like you.” - Helen Steiner Rice
“There’s no storm that God won’t carry you through. No bridge that God won’t help you cross. No battle that God won’t help you through. No heartache that God can’t help you let go of. He is so much bigger than anything you will ever face. Leave everything in His hands. Embrace each day confidently, knowing that He will take care of you.” - unknown
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
