I would like to say a big thank you to all veterans that have served in the past and those presently serving. You are the ones who put in countless hours to help protect our country, and many of you put your lives on line while serving. If you have never stopped a person in uniform to tell them thank you for serving, it is time to think about doing so. Military are appreciated more by those that know what they do than those that do not have any idea. It is not a very glorified job in the end result, but they do it because they love our country and feel a sense of duty to our country. Happy Veterans Day!
Congratulations to the eight-year-old baseball team “West TN Hitmen.” They played in a tournament in Oxford, Miss., on Nov. 5 and 6. After losing two games on Saturday and going into Sunday in the losers bracket, this young team was able to make a comeback of winning three games and taking the championship. My grandson Jack Hornbeak along with Luke Smith and Mason Mayo and maybe some boys that I do not know from Henderson are part of this team. This is Jack’s first championship ring. Proud of these boys for all their hard work.

Please be in prayer for the upcoming election as decisions are being made, all elected officials local and federal, law enforcement, first responders, healthcare workers, teachers and administrators. With all the upside down happenings in our world around us, pray daily. There is much spiritual warfare with society accepting things that go against who God is and what HIS laws are that we are to follow. Every day of life has its challenges, but if we look to God for the right path, it can be a good one. Please pray for Elecia Ellis, Lisa Bishop, Bro. Iran Smith, Kathy Emerson, Jeanette Walker, Paul Schilling, Jennifer Paton, Nancy Crouse, Martha Cooper, Jake Richardson, Ann Morrison, Faye Crouse, Ed Morris and others that are sick or healing. We especially want to remember the families of Weronkia “Ronnie” Tacker, Michael Wooley, Joy Frances Massengill Grisham, Sue Nobles and other families that have recently lost loved ones. Always looking for noteworthy news to share in this column. Please send to gaylescox1977@gmail.com or text me at 608-2857.
Until next time and wishing a very blessed week to all you readers!
