“Goodbyes hurt the most…when the story was not yet finished.” - unknown
Our community expresses sympathy to the families of precious little Emma Rose Marie Kesler (3-21-22 to 3-21-22) - Little Hatchie; James “Jimmy” Dean Weatherford (12-27-65 to 3-24-22) beloved husband of Sharon Moody of Jacks Creek – no service; Doctor William “Bill” Wilson Stanfill (01-16-39 to 03-21-22), Chester County High School class of ‘57 - Henderson City Cemetery; and Wanda Hockaday Squires (10-25-31 to 3-26-22) – Whiteville Melrose Cemetery.
Prayerfully thinking about little Emmitt, great-grandson of Cousin Alice Maness Terry Stovall; classmates, Brenda Johnson and Harold James; Jean Tignor; Brenda Hannah; Delores Perkins; Sherrill Ryals (improving); Sue Wright; Lounell Grissom; Andy and Doris Maness; Tommy and Janice Patterson; and Emma Hopkins Ross.
Many communities have donated to the Community Yard Sale on April 1-2 at J&J Warehouse (across from Bells). Many did declutter for the dogs. Come and find your treasure. Not only does LOVING PAWS RESCUE need support county-wide, but discarded animals need a voice and a fur-ever home. To you that do the responsible and Christian acts for animals, thank you. Carol and puppies hope to attend the event.
Four tidbits: (2-19-1945 to 3-26-1945) Battle of Iwo Jima – over 25,000 killed; about eight billion folks live on earth; 22 billion pounds of coffee produced yearly; and Joseph Jenkins (1914 to 1959) was the first African American in United States Coast Guard.
To the person who dumped a pregnant young cat at Jacks Creek – she had kittens two days later. Guessing $300 to take care of your responsibility that would have only cost $50 for spaying the young cat before she had time to date! To the person who dumped the white dog near JC School – LOVING PAWS rescued after my two failed attempts just to locate.
Have you ever thought about what Carol Preuss does at LOVING PAWS? It is not a simple pick up a dog and find “IT” a new home. Carol’s care begins with a slow hand offering treats. Then the work begins at the rescue. Until grouping is allowed each dog has a personal kennel with soft clean blankets. They need some alone time to size-up their surroundings. They are seeing, hearing and smelling new furry friends. That is something exciting or scary. It takes time for animals or humans to adjust to new surroundings, right? Soon Carol uses personal tender care for healing a broken spirit–low voice; softly touching a bruised body; cleaning up old infected wounds; and reassuring food and water is near.
Care giving includes tending abscessed gums or broken jaw; ear mites; skin scrapes; maggots in wounds; teeth tartar; or flea and tick infestations. Carol dreads heartworm tests - expensive and hard on dogs. If you would foster for a healing dog, call Carol. Foster parents are a blessing – dogs need a quiet, but caring atmosphere for healing during heartworm treatment. Food and other requests are furnished. This fostering gives Carol more time for other puppies and dogs. I have fostered five Loving Paws dogs. Carol found eastern homes - new families shared photos later. On March 24 three dogs went east – Chardonnay, Cricket and Raine. Check - foreverhomerescue.org
Of course spaying or neutering goes with all dogs, but it ends cruelty of over population of deserted animals. Spay or neuter vouchers are great, but vouchers are limited. If you want a pet - be responsible. It means saving to spay or neuter. Simply leave off cigarettes, cokes, beer, rented movies, junk foods, eating out for four, buying name brands, catalog orders, toys, or new electronic items – that is over $400 a month. Keep tabs.
Over three months ago Carol Preuss rescued over two dozen puppies. Did her Christmas Day start with a (ho-ho-ho), (yelp-yelp-yelp) or (help-help-help)? Can we not do better for God’s creations, Carol and LOVING PAWS? She is overwhelmed at the outpouring – where have we been?
Any organization has to have funds to operate, right? How many of us have not donated to St. Jude? Goodwill? Donation Jars? Fire Departments? Churches? Cemetery Funds? Freed-Hardeman Associates? Chester County BBQ Festival? Girl Scouts? Boy Scouts? School Fall Festivals? Nursing Homes at holidays? ICU waiting room food baskets? Or people losing their home by a fire? LOVING PAWS is an organization. A cry for help has been made – I hope you heard it. My hearing is excellent. I can hear some of you now – thank YOU for caring and sharing! Tidbit: Dogs hear 4-5 times better than humans. They can hear sound almost a mile away. Sirens hurt ears!
God created animals first and for His pleasure; they have a purpose. They enrich our lives like innocent children and our wise, but vulnerable elders. Animals and humans are worthy of our respect and deserve it. Do not ever doubt it….God is watching us.
We can not hide in caves or bunkers. We look up to see the light. God is there. God is everywhere. He loves His creations! Be kind to animals, children and elderly. Respect life and freedom. Parts of the world are not benefiting like us. We should thank God every day. It is a stressful time brought on by negative materialistic greedy and evil people. Turning away from God only brings wrath – aren’t we seeing it? It is Ukraine now in the news. It could easily come to the U.S.A. A show of support (flag or ribbon) make a strong statement.
