Greetings from Hickory Corner
I am writing this on Monday, the first day of Spring, but it really has not felt like Spring today. The sun is shining, but it was a cold morning. I know everyone probably feels like me and is ready for warmer weather. Fingers crossed we see some this week.
The St. Patricks Day party at the HCC Center was Saturday, March 18, and if you missed it, then you missed a good time. It was fun with plenty of good food. Phillip Cranford sure knows how to bake a great ham. It was so good, and the dessert table was filled with lots of delicious sweets. Phillip also enjoys trivia, and he had trivia questions about St. Patrick’s Day for all of us. Everyone had fun playing bingo, and everyone went home with prizes. Out of town guests included Phillip’s son, John, along with his sons Andrew and Asa from Lexington, Ky. Of course, as always, we are glad to see Lonnie and Shirley Morton of Memphis. Thanks to Sarah Holmes for helping me clean the center and to Judy Cranford who decorated the center to look festive for the party. Thanks to all others who played a part in helping get things ready. Shout out to Phillip and Judy for hosting the party. A big thanks to all who attended. Everyone is always welcome to attend our events. I know we have new neighbors who have moved into our community and we would love to have you join us.
My lab, Ruger, is still on his medication, and he is doing so much better. His igloo house is now on the deck, and he loves hanging out there. He is full of love for me, and we enjoy our walks together when the weather permits. When he gazes at me I tell him that I love him, pat him on the head, and then he wags his tail and whines, so I know he understands me.
Please remember in prayer Ladelle Clark, Mildred Smith, Martha Autry, Ann Morrison, Bonice Martin, Peggy Whitman, Peggy Lard, William and Eddie Luttrell, and Donna Lynch. Continue to pray for each other, our country, and our world. If you would like to add or remove a name from our prayer list, please call me. I do not like to add/remove a name without permission.
