Hello to my family and friends. It is good to be with you on another day. I hope each and every one of you had a wonderful blessed week. For this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! Well, the first month of 2022 has almost come and gone. People were wondering what it would bring for the future. Would COVID be gone or not? Will it be better than 2021 or worse? This is what I said last year, and I am saying it again this year - It depends on us, the people. We need to keep our trust in the Lord. On our money we have “IN GOD WE TRUST.” According to 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
There is a young man who lives here in Henderson. He was the first Black Man to have his own moving company in Chester County. He is a man who loves his family and friends. Most of all he is a God fearing man; this is a saying that my grandmother would use, “In other words he loves the Lord and the Lord loves him.” On Jan. 24, this young man had a birthday, and he turned 91 years young. Mr. Clarence Harris, your family and friends want you to know we love you and we are praying for you! We pray the Lord will bless you with many more. Happy Birthday, Mr. Harris!
The City of Henderson would like to say congratulations and welcome to our hometown to the new Eagles Football Head Coach Dewond Johnson. We are glad you have accepted the challenge!
On a sadder note, please keep the Ethel Louise (Gray) Hubbard family in your prayers. On Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Smith Cemetery in Henderson, she was laid to rest. Ms. Ethel will be missed! The Lord does not make a mistake. The City’s condolences go out to the entire family.
Also to my neighbor family of Ricky Johnson, no one can prepare you for a loss; it comes like a swift wind. However, take comfort in knowing that he is now resting in the arms of our Lord. Our deepest condolences to you and your family. We are praying for you.
Ms. Doris Arnold is home now from the hospital. Please keep her in your prayer! I know she will recover very soon because you cannot keep a good woman down!
The City of Henderson would like to take a trip to Southwest HRA Head Start where there is a lady by the name of Laura Boyer who will be celebrating her birthday on Jan. 31. While we are out, we must stop by the Southwest Electric Company and say happy belated birthday to Kim Vincent, who celebrated her birthday on Jan. 20. We pray the Lord will bless each of you with many healthier and happy years!
Last note for today: there have been many of our loved ones to leave us this month. Remember to be kind to all and love all because we do not know if that will be the last time we see each other!
The city would like to take this time to wish all of our loved ones in the nursing home who had a birthday this week a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
On the prayer list this week: all families everywhere, children in the schools, teachers and our men and women who are serving our country. Please remember our first responders in your prayers.
Remember to patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us try to support our own as much as we can.
