Hello from Enville! Hopefully, everyone is having a good week! Another month is coming to an end, and May is almost here. The weather is wishy/washy, but it is Springtime. That is just the way it is this time of year. I am ready to get all these “little winters” done and out of here! I have been going back and forth from summer to winter closets to get my clothes each day. You never know what each day brings. We just go with the flow!
The Enville Volunteer Fire Department is having their annual barbecue fundraiser beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, the day before Mother’s Day. Be sure to get your Sunday meal so mom can relax and enjoy her day with her family. You can get barbeque pork, chicken or bologna, or you can preorder ribs from any firefighter. The Community Center committee will have baked goods for sale also. Donated items will be greatly appreciated.
Do not forget Milledgeville Heritage Day is Saturday, April 29, at the city park. They will have food vendors and old cars and tractors on display, and their fire department will also have barbeque. This is a fun event to attend. They always have some really good fried pies!
The Enville Community Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2; if you are interested in our community, please come!
Decorations have begun at many cemeteries. Oak Grove, where some of Danny’s family is buried, was beautifully decorated on Sunday. The month of May will be busy with decorations for many. Please make donations to the cemetery of your loved ones. It takes a lot to keep them maintained and mowed all summer and looking good for family members.
Happy birthday wishes go to Emilie Holder and DB Weatherington on April 30 and Lucy Ashbrook on May 4. Happy anniversary wishes go to Harry and Connie Timmer on May 1, Wayne and Brenda Poupard on May 3 and J P and Easton Glover on May 4. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for Anna Dennis and family on the loss of her son, Jason, and continue prayers for Agnes Smith, Lisa Bishop, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Linda and Robert Johnson, Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Ashley Pugh, Ann Pugh, Emily Freeman, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Rick Ooley, Mike Pugh, James Vinson, Tim Harris, Jimmy Robertson, Loretta Plunk, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Kathy Emerson, Joann Fowler, Dot Smith, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board, those who have lost loved ones and, as always, each other.
If you have news or someone to add to the prayer list, call me at 608-3058, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat 688-5125. Have a blessed week everyone!
