Hello from Enville!
I hope you all had a blessed Easter. I am sure you enjoyed your Easter Church Services as we did. We had a wonderful crowd and lots of pretty little girls and handsome little boys. I am sure there was a lot of Easter egg hunting with family and friends. I remember the fun of hiding and hunting all afternoon when ours were all little!
Okay, the dogwood trees are blooming, so I am thinking this cold spell is dogwood winter. We still have blackberry winter to go through. After that cold spell, I hope the weather levels out, and we have nice, warm temperatures with not so many storms and rain. You know what they say - April showers bring May flowers!
The Enville Volunteer Fire Department will have a fundraiser on May 7; they will have barbecue pork, chicken, bologna and drinks. They will be ready to sell at 10 a.m. until sold out. This will take place beside the Enville City Hall. If an Enville resident needs smoke detectors, please contact Fire Chief Thomas Gilham at 608-0696.
There was a great turnout for the Roby Fire Department fundraiser on Saturday. The chicken was delicious and so were the hamburgers and hotdogs. We purchased a sour cream coconut cake that Nita Middleton made, and it is awesome. There were several kiddos who came out to the egg hunt. They send out a big thank you to all who supported them!
Decoration Day’s have begun. The fourth Sunday in April is Faith Baptist and Oak Grove Cumberland (Talley Town). Please support your cemeteries for the upkeep and maintenance.
