We are having a great week of showing what we know here at East Chester Elementary School!
This week, our kindergarteners are learning so many new things! The students are continuing to increase their reading fluency. In math the students are learning how to find the missing addend. An example would be 6 + _ =10. These little learners are also learning ways to help take care of our earth. Some of our kindergarteners are watching their caterpillars turn into butterflies! Ms. Erica Parten’s class has caterpillars that have formed a chrysalis. They are anxiously waiting for their butterflies to emerge! How exciting!
Our first graders are really coming along! The students are still learning about Tennessee critters and maps. If you see an East Chester first grader, be sure to ask what they have learned about Tennessee critters! They are also learning about Frontier Explorers. In math students are learning to subtract by 10.
This has been a big last two weeks for our second and third graders! Last week, our students finished up their TCAP tests. This week, these students are working on their iReady diagnostic assessment. Whew! These students have been working so hard on their tests, and we are so proud of them!
We have several important dates coming up here at East Chester. School-wide CAMP READ-A-LOT will take place on April 29. This is always a fun day! Our Fun Run is coming up on May 6. We have a PTO Meeting on May 10. Chester County High School Seniors will be having their Senior Walk on May 12. Also on May 12 is our Kindergarten Awards program. If you have a student in Kindergarten this year, be sure to check with their teacher for a time. Field Day is scheduled for May 13. Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) registration is going on now through May 13 at the Chester County Board of Education. We sure are busy at East Chester!
As always it is a great day to be at East Chester Elementary School!
