Hello to all from this little corner of the world. The sky was a beautiful blue with white clouds on Sunday. It was 92 degrees but felt like 101 degrees at the time of this writing. According to the weather channel, the temperatures should start dropping into the 80s around Sept. 21. There is very little chance of rain through Sept. 27. We were very fortunate to receive rain Friday evening and night. I loved the thunder. I see lots of fields harvested and some waiting. We are not sure if we will need to mow again, but time will tell. Mums are for sale now, but it is too hot for my liking to have any right now. Some people are getting flu shots now also, but we usually wait until around the third week in October. Get the hand sanitizer ready in the car also.
It was a sad day for our country 25 years ago. On 9-11-2001, our country suffered terrible attacks when nineteen terrorists hijacked four commercial airplanes. Two planes crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. A third plane flew into the Pentagon near Washington, D.C. Passengers fought back on the fourth plane, causing it to crash in a field in Pennsylvania. 2,976 lives were lost that day, and thousands more were injured. These horrors were orchestrated by Osama bin Laden, who died in 2011 when a special operations unit raided the compound where he was located. I pray we never see another attack again.
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” – Psalm 34:18
We enjoyed three nights of revival at Friendship Baptist Church. The attendance was very good, and we are thankful for each person who attended and invite you to come back anytime. God is still on His throne, and we continue to worship Him. There are not enough words to express my feelings toward my Lord and Savior – Wonderful, Marvelous, Amazing, Loving, Caring, Omnipotent and on and on. No matter what goes on in our lives, turn the problems over to Him and find peace, sweet peace!
