Hello to all from this little corner of the world. Sunday was slightly cloudy. The temperature was 83 degrees, and the heat index was 90. It was still warm, but there was some reprieve there. The temperatures are supposed to be around the mid-80s most of the week with a slight chance of pop-up showers throughout the week. It has been hard to keep the flowers in pots happy. Humidity, as we all know, has been terrible, but we have not had floods like in Kentucky or Missouri. God bless everyone dealing with these issues.
We went to The Ned in Jackson Saturday afternoon to see Fiddler on the Roof. The ticket prices were very reasonable and can be purchased at jtgonline.com. I went once before with my sister as her oldest granddaughter was in a play there. It was the story of Ruby Bridges. I enjoyed it very much. Fiddler was my second visit. The cast was wonderful! The moment they began singing was very impressive. There were many great vocalists participating, and everyone was in unison with a full sound. The story was good, and there was a great crowd there. I plan to go again. The lineup is online or on Facebook as Jackson Theater Guild. It is also a very nice theater. I told James it would be as close to Broadway as I would ever be, and I am still happy!
Congratulations to Chase and Abby Priddy on the arrival of their little boy, Copen. We wish you many happy, fun years together.
Happy birthday to De Scott, 7-13, and Jared Blankenship, 7-17.
Happy anniversary to Donna and Matt Dickey, 7-15.
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones. There is never a time when we are prepared to lose a loved one, to never see them again on this earth. Only God could bring me up from the lowest point I have ever had. Sunday was our son Nicholas’s birthday. He would be 43 years old if he were still here. The sadness lingers, but the days shorten for us. We are closer now than we were 29 years ago. God is my reason for living and then my family. We are so very thankful and blessed.

“Steppingstones” by Helen Steiner Rice: “Think not that life has been unfair/and given you too much to bear/For God has chosen you because/With all your weakness and flaws/He feels that you are worthy of/The greatness of His wondrous love/Welcome every stumbling block/and every thorn and jagged rock/For each one is a steppingstone/To a fuller life than we’ve ever known/and in the radiance of God’s smiles/We learn to soar about life’s trials/And as we grow in strength and grace/The clearer we can see God’s face.”
I pray all of you will have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I’d truly appreciate any news. People from here and those that have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
