Hello to all from this little corner of the world. Can you believe we are in the month of June? We are halfway through the year! Time flies whether you are having fun or not. The rain seems to have slacked off this past weekend, but it was humid and hotter. Ahh, the days of summer. James is trying to get this mini farm mowed. The rain and the wait for the grass to be dry enough make it difficult. Well, at least when you are retired, most of the time you can pick another day. Speaking of picking, we have seen several corn fields that are happy with all this rain and now the heat. I hope the farmers have a successful year this year, regardless which crop you grow. Our birds are happy, too. We hung a cylinder with a different seed in it, and now, they have a choice. Hopefully, we can get the birdbath ready this week.
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones.
We enjoyed the sermon at Friendship Baptist Church Sunday morning from Bro. Sonny Pierce. We will be having VBS from 6-8:30 p.m. June 22-26. Ages are fifth grade and under. The theme will be Rain Forest Falls, Exploring the Nature of God. Please join us for a fun-filled week of learning.
Summer vacation is here for those in school. I hope you have a wonderful, safe summer. I also hope those that are finished with high school and are preparing for their future, remember that life is hard sometimes but have faith and believe in yourself! You can achieve anything if you put your mind to it.
Happy birthday to Marla Davidson, 5-30, and Chuck Berry, 5-31.

“God always gives us the grace to endure whatever season of life we are in. Instead of complaining and stressing, see things from the lesson and blessing perspective. Embrace God’s grace and know that He is equipping you to handle what is before you and strengthening you while you are in it. Rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS and Trust in HIS plans!!! God is always at work on our behalf...always working in us and through us...always working things together for our good.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
