Hello to all from this little corner of the world. Sunday was a beautiful day. The sun was shining with white clouds and a slight breeze. The temperature was 63 degrees. We planted flowers last week. We have four perennial lantanas to plant in the backyard, and the rest will be in pots. We have hummingbirds, and our little prothonotary warbler has returned to our delight! We love our birds and nature. We continue to have sadness in the loss of our precious Pepper, but we know with time we will recall sweet, cute and adorable memories he created for us and, above all, the love he gave us. He was such a blessing.
We had a very good day Sunday at Friendship Baptist Church, beginning with another baptism. It is always pure joy to see another follow our Lord in baptism. Bro. Bobby Russ will be with us next Sunday as our interim, and then the first Sunday in May, which is our homecoming, Bro. Sonny Pierce will become full-time pastor for our church. God is always working on His plans.
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones. It may seem you are forgotten during these times, but I am sure prayers are going up, and you are thought of often. When we are sad and feel alone, we always have God, but others do not know what to say or how to console you. I have been on the grieving side, and I have felt alone and discarded, but as time has passed, I am sure that others were praying for us. Grief is very difficult to navigate as I am sure many of you know.

“Perhaps our purpose here on earth is not a grand accomplishment, but a small kindness that we don’t think much of, that changes the life of another.” - Mary Davis
“I want to stay the kind of person who talks to animals and smiles at babies. I want to always love the sound of rain on the roof and the way the air smells at dusk. I want to feel a bittersweet pang when I look at old photos of loved ones. I never want to forget that BEING GRATEFUL IS A CHOICE.” - Nanea Hoffman
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
