Hello to all from this little corner of the world. This was written on Sunday, 12-14-25. The sun was shining Sunday, and the skies were blue. The temperature was 24 degrees but felt like 13 degrees. Sunday night was 12 degrees. Monday, it was 40 degrees with 24 degrees at night. The next 15 days are showing mostly in the 50s and 60s. Christmas Day is supposed to be 63 degrees. We will be having our family gathering on Dec. 20. I think there will be 17 to 18 people here. The menu is pretty much planned. We will try and get the inside prettied up before then. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and remember the reason for the season – JESUS!
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones. We went to the cemetery Friday afternoon to decorate Nick’s grave. We were trying to beat this cold snap. Others were doing the same. Those we love may be gone from our sight but never from our heart and mind. We will see them again. God bless.
I saw some of the Chester County parade on television, and I am sure it was very pretty. I loved the band. They did a great job! Maybe we can make it next year.
Our schools will go to school for half a day on Dec. 19 and return Jan. 6, 2026 for the first full day of the new year. They will be off again on Jan. 19 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Christmas break includes a staff development day. I hope everyone enjoys their time off; enjoy the break and stay safe and warm. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Children at Friendship Baptist Church performed a musical Sunday night. It was “One Night in Bethlehem.” There were various ages in the performance, and I will say it was a “production!” We had a great crowd, and I am thankful for that too! Natalie Wray sang “Mary Did You Know?” Jonah Azbill and Chasity King were narrators, and Beth Jordan was the children’s instructor. There was also a meal following the musical. Thanks to everyone who worked with them in any way to accomplish this. I am sure it was hard work, but it paid off for all! We never tire of seeing children participate in our church.

“A simple life brings happiness. When you fill your life with noise from TVs, chores from to-do lists, and arguments from newspapers, where will you find space for love, relationships, faith and God? Cherish the simple things in life. Put the rest back on the shelf.” – unknown
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You!
