Hello to all from this little corner of the world. There was a definite chill in the air on Monday! The temperature was 38 degrees and felt like 29 degrees here at 12:30 p.m. Wind gusts were 20 mph at times. For the rest of the week, the temperatures are going to climb. The mid-week temperature should be about 68 degrees as the high and 38 degrees at night. I guess Mother Nature is giving us all a taste of what some wanted and some did not want. Just take it a day at a time and be prepared with a jacket, sweater, gloves or umbrella and stay ready!
Tuesday, we celebrated the Veterans. I am very thankful we live in America and am proud and thankful for those that have or are serving in our military. The Home of the Free Because of the Brave. All Gave Some and Some Gave ALL. l cannot help but think of the families that have also stood by those that serve/served. It can be a hard life, being transferred to different stations, not seeing your loved one and being concerned for their safety. They definitely have a different mindset. Thanks to all Veterans!
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones. Grief is definitely not a one-time thing. It is a journey with ups and downs but never ending. As the holidays draw near, this will be harder on those mourning. Nothing is happy. I remember when our son was killed. I could not stand the thought of a Christmas tree, and to tell you the truth, I do not remember…I also think that for some it affects our thought processes. I am getting a little older, but sometimes, my mind seems to be blank! Thank goodness it is not very frequent. There is NEVER a DAY that we do not miss Nick, and I am sure you feel that way, too. The deeper the love, the harder the pain. Life continues, but we are changed forever. We will not be the same person anymore due to the loss. We must remember to talk to God and always remember He is there for us. We will slowly but surely come out into the light again. Also, the trials we face will make us stronger and more able to help others who are going through what we have faced. We all need each other. Praying for all of you. God bless.
Happy Birthday to Kandice Westbrook, 11-12.
Happy anniversary to Jenifer and Stephen Lowrance, 11-9, De and Chuck Scott, 11-10, and Paige and Darion Barber, 11-11.

“Lord, we take time not just from tradition, but from a grateful heart remembering all those who have served this nation. We pay tribute to all our veterans. We are thankful for the freedoms we have today because of their service. Bring eternal peace to their hearts and satisfaction in You.” Amen
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
