New Friendship & Mifflin Community News

Hello to all from this little corner of the world. It was cloudy and cool with episodes of light rain Saturday morning. The next few days are going to be a little cooler followed by some hotter days again. Hopefully, those days are nearly over. I am sure many farmers could use some rain. Our birds continue to visit. We have things to do before the cold weather sets in for the next season.
I have been having terrible neck/shoulder pain and would appreciate any prayers sent up for me. Many thanks for considering my request.
We enjoyed our Friday afternoon with a couple of friends we play cards with, and our son, Jeremy, came up for a visit with our great-granddaughter, Laiken. She is such a funny, smart, lovable child. We are all so blessed. I am so very grateful. As I grow older, I look forward to spending more time with my family. I just sat and observed Jeremy, remembering him when he was little. I looked at his hair, and hope I can continue to remember how he looks today. I pray for more days to enjoy days like these. These are simple things to many, but they are not so simple to those who are in the golden years. If we are blessed to live long enough, we will see these days come and go way too fast, but that is the way life is supposed to be. Please do not rush life; it will sprint right past you, and before you know it, you will be here, too. Love and enjoy life, even with its disappointments; it is such a wonderful journey. Praise God every day for the GIFT of life!

“Mirror of Change” – “The mirror reflects not the lines of my face/But courage that grew in the darkest of place/The battles I carried, the fears I concealed/Now shine in the eyes that refused to be sealed/Each day I remember the scars that I bear/Are symbols of lessons, of strength I declare/The mirror shows more than the surface of the skin/It whispers the places where change has been in/And though I may stumble, my truth will remain/The mirror reminds me there’s joy after pain/For each broken season has made me aware/That growth is a treasure too precious to spare.” – The PastLife

People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
