Hello to all from this little corner of the world. The sky was a beautiful blue with white clouds on Saturday, and the temperature was 88 degrees. The weather forecast predicts better daytime temperatures along with cooler nights. We will be in the last week of August when the newspaper is printed this week. We continue to have our usual birds and two to three hummers. We have not had as many yellow finches this summer nor black hat chickadees. We have had mostly wrens, a few finches and cardinals. I do not think they enjoyed this terrible heat or drought either. I am looking forward to cooler weather as you know if you read this column.
Friendship Baptist Church will have a potluck meal beginning at 5 p.m. Aug. 31 with singing at 6 p.m. featuring the Long family.
My neck and left shoulder are giving me a lot of trouble, and I would appreciate prayers for relief. I have had problems with it in the past.
Next weekend will be a three-day weekend for the schools and government offices due to Labor Day along with others that observe these holidays.
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones and those suffering in any way. Remember that God is always there for you; even though time may seem bleak, He is there. Talk to Him, pray and believe He will help you. God teaches us patience during these trials and much more. Remember that it will not always be this way. God bless.

I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
