Hello to all from this little corner of the world. The skies were blue Sunday with white clouds, and there was no breeze. Water plants in pots every day and some twice a day. Our birds continue to visit, but, as I am writing, they are resting in the shade, I guess. The temperature as I wrote this was 97 degrees and felt like 106 degrees. There is very little chance of rain for the next 10 days. The heat is predicted to continue until Aug. 25.
I enjoyed Saturday afternoon with my cousin, Patsy N. Jones. We do not make time to visit. Life is short, and if you can squeeze in for someone you care about or love, do it! We do not work now and are older. I understand other issues that deter us from doing simple things, but it truly makes life better when we stop and smell the roses. It does not take money – just time. It does not have to be a day or afternoon but just carve out a little time; even once every three months, just pick a time and DO IT! My mother died in 2004 at the age of 68. I miss her so very much. It feels like I can just pick up the phone and talk to her every day. Yesterday, I was so surprised that I saw my mother in Patsy’s face. I made pictures and sent them to my sister, and she thought so, too. A very special day for us all!
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones and those suffering in any way. Remember that God is always there for you; even though time may seem bleak, He is there. Talk to Him, pray and believe He will help you. God teaches us patience during these trials and much more. Remember it will not always be this way. God bless.

“In the end, it’s not the noise of achievement that echoes - it’s the quiet of presence. Kindness. Integrity. Let your legacy be felt in hearts, not measured in things. Because people won’t remember: Your salary, how busy you were, how many hours you worked or how many Gucci bags you owned. People will remember: How you made them feel, the time you spent with them, the moments you kept your word and whether they could count on you.” – unknown
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
