Hello to all from this little corner of the world. The sky was blue Saturday with white clouds, and the temperature was 87 degrees with a feel-like temperature of 94. This week has had some exasperating times for me, but we all have days that seem to start wrong and carry throughout the day. Thank goodness that it is not very often. Last Monday, we were taking food to a meeting, and as I was putting it in the car, I somehow slammed the door on my right pinkie. OUCH! Needless to say, I have found a little British in my genes. I now hold my pinkie out like the British do when they drink tea on television. The end of the finger is still very angry, but it is healing, and I am thankful for that.
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones and those suffering in any way. Remember that God is always there for you; even though time may seem bleak, He is there. Talk to Him, pray and believe He will help you. God teaches us patience during these trials and much more. Remember that it will not always be this way. God bless.
We attended the Southwest Electric meeting Aug. 8 at the Jackson fairgrounds. There was great attendance with music and food provided. Both were very good, and we appreciated all the hard work. There were several door prizes, and several from Henderson won monetary gifts. These sure help. We won $100 off our electric bill one year, and it surely helped.
We had another great rain on Friday afternoon. I enjoy thunder, and we had it along with some lightning. Thankful when it comes, as we still have some hot days ahead, and we do not want another long dry spell.
Friendship Community Club will have its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Aug. 15. It is a potluck, and our group is growing! Come and enjoy food and fun with us.

I have felt God’s arms around me. I have seen God’s work in my life, personally. No one will ever convince me that God isn’t real! “From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised!” - Psalm 113:3
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
