Hello to all from this little corner of the world. The skies were blue with white clouds Sunday, and a few had some gray in them. It continues to be hot. I truly empathize with the farmers. I know God controls the weather, but maybe we should start praying for rain. We need a good, soaking rain. If you think the same, then join me in praying for a good rain. Farmers are highly dependent on the weather. I hate to see corn fields just burn up. I do not see much cotton being planted on the roads I travel. It sure is a pretty sight. It was 91 degrees and felt like 102 degrees at the time of this writing. We should get a break from the extreme heat for a few days around Aug. 1, according to the Weather Channel, and then it will return to the 90s again. Again, please join me in prayer for a good, soaking rain. Thanks and God bless.
I imagine many people shopped this weekend as it was a tax-free weekend. It helps when you have several children for sure. This coming Friday will be Aug. 1, and I am SOOO glad! We will be so much closer to Fall. I do believe it is my favorite season, but I do love them all. I do not do well with extreme heat. Everyone, please stay cool, hydrate, check on others and make sure the animals have water and shade. If you can bring them in for a brief time, that would be so very kind. We will all get through this together.
I have not seen much difference in what we buy with the prices changing. I do not know how this tariff thing will affect any of us, but $2.37 for a medium head of lettuce at Walmart is too much! I like the spring mix, and for the price, I may just go back to it. I can not imagine a large family having to pay for groceries and household products along with housing and utilities. I wish everyone the best. We are retired, so we all have just so much to spread around.
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones. Prayers for those hurting, struggling or suffering in any way. God does know and will provide. It may seem hopeless, but God will supply your NEEDS. God bless.

Strawberry Heaven Pudding: you need angel food cake, a container of whipped cream, cream cheese and strawberry topping or strawberry pie filling. Cube angel food cake and layer in a dish. Mix cream cheese and whipped cream and spread over cake. It helps to let these two sit out for a little bit. It will be easier to mix. Top with strawberries or strawberry pie filling. Chill in fridge until set. YUM!
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
