Lady Eagles finish season at Best of the West Tournament

The Chester County Junior High Lady Eagles competed in the Best of the West Tournament this week, falling to Decatur County in the semifinal round on Monday before closing the season with a win over Lexington in Thursday night’s consolation game.
In Monday’s semifinal, Chester County dropped a 43–16 decision to Decatur County. The game opened as a defensive battle, with Decatur holding a 7–4 lead after the first quarter. Decatur used a strong second-quarter run to take a 23–6 advantage into halftime and continued to build its lead in the second half, extending the margin to 36–11 after three quarters before finishing the game at 43–16. Amilli Eanes led the Lady Eagles with 8 points.
The Lady Eagles bounced back Thursday night with a 24–18 victory over Lexington in the consolation game. The contest stayed close throughout, with Lexington holding a 6–5 edge after the first quarter. Chester County responded to take an 11–8 lead at halftime before Lexington moved in front 16–14 after three quarters. Chester County finished strong in the final period, outscoring Lexington 10–2 to secure the win.
Amilli Eanes again led Chester County with 8 points, while Eppie Rowsey and Briley Hudson added 6 points each. Following the tournament, Amilli Eanes and Eppie Rowsey were named to the Best of the West All-Tournament Team, marking a strong finish to the season for the Lady Eagles.
