Hello to my family and friends. It is good to be with you on another day. I hope each and every one of you had a wonderful and blessed week. For this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!
Well, the first month of 2026 is on its way out. Many people have been wondering what the future will bring. Around this time four years ago, we were worried about COVID. Would it be gone, or would it get better or worse? Well, COVID is still hanging around. But I believe there is something even worse in the air. It is called hatred, a very strong dislike toward a person, place or thing. Yes, we live in a very peaceful little town most of the time, but my heart is very sad about all the unnecessary killing in other states. I thank God for the police officers we have here in Henderson. I thank God for all of you because we were all created by God. You know what? It depends on us, the people. We need to keep our trust in the Lord. On our money it says, “In God We Trust.” According to 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” So let us keep praying for the world.
Weren’t the snow and ice beautiful? Seeing the glass-like crystals hanging on the trees was absolutely amazing! Not only that, schools and some worksites were closed, which meant people had more time to spend with family, playing games, keeping warm and enjoying one another.
A big shoutout goes to Southwest Electric Company for the hard work they did in working to get power restored in the areas that lost it! Thank you!
The city of Henderson would like to say Happy Birthday to Charleston Croom, Jan. 25; Sierra Croom, Jan. 26; Apostle Marles Flowers and Michael Joyner, Jan. 27; Lesa Croom, Jan. 28; and Alyssa Joyner, Jan. 29. Now, we are going to stop by Southwest HRA Head Start. There is a lady by the name of Laura Boyer who will be celebrating her birthday on Jan. 31. We pray the Lord will bless you with many more!
The city would like to take this time to wish all our loved ones in the Nursing Home who had a birthday this week a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Last note for today: Many of our loved ones had to leave us this month. Remember to be kind to all and love all because we do not know if that will be the last time we see each other!
On the prayer list this week: All families everywhere, children in the school, teachers and our men and women that are serving our country. Please remember our first responders in your prayers.
Remember to patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us try to support our own as much as we can.
