Freed-Hardeman men’s golf completes first round

Freed-Hardeman University’s Lion golf team finished in seventh place after the first round of the FHU Invitational at Chickasaw Golf Course. FHU’s 320 (+32) has them 15 strokes behind the leading Mississippi University for Women golfers.
Tyler Rhodes posted FHU’s lowest round, with a 77 (+5) giving him a share of eighth place. On the front nine, Rhodes had birdies on both par-3 holes, while finishing the par-5 13th hole with a birdie. In the tight men’s contest, despite being only three stokes behind Rhodes, Cash Piatt’s 80 (+8) had him finish in a tie for 20th place. Piatt had a birdie on the par-3 fifth hole and the par-4 seventh.
EJ Hill’s 81 (+9) landed him in a 10-way tie for 26th place, tallying a birding on the par-4 seventh and 10th holes. Ben Sebilian was one stroke behind at 82 (+10), sharing in a six-way tie for 36th place. Sebilian had a birdie on the par-4 fourth hole.
