Hello from Enville! I hope everyone is having a great week. The Fall weather has finally arrived; actually, a few nights will feel more like Winter, which is a little too cold for me, but a warm up will come back for the weekend. We are thankful for the rain we had. It was much needed. Maybe some of the grass fires will ease up now.
The first Trunk or Treat at Maggie’s in Enville was a success. A good time was had by all who participated. They served up some great food, and the kiddos filled up their pumpkins with candy. Some adults had fun dressing up and handing out goodies as well. Thanks to Mike and Debbie for hosting this for our community! I am glad our breakfast group is back from traveling and around our table at Maggie’s again!
The Enville Community Club will have a Veterans dinner and program at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 7 at the community center. We invite veterans to come and have a great meal and enjoy a short program. We appreciate your service to us and our country! Please invite veterans you may know to come and join in.
Be sure to turn your clocks back one hour on Saturday night, as Daylight Savings Time will end on Sunday, Nov. 5. I am not looking forward to this, and I am sure many of you are not either. The nights seem so long with it getting dark so early. I guess we will stay home a little more and probably get in bed earlier.
The Chester County High School football season ended Friday night with a win. We enjoyed watching our #71, Blake Thompson, and his team each week. The band sure sounded great, too! Brayden Thompson enjoyed watching Peyton Griswell and her team on the soccer field this season. CCJHS basketball season is underway. We love watching our #3, Reece Collins, on the court, along with her team. Good luck this season!
Happy birthday to Glenn Butts on Nov. 5, Debbie Vinson and Kim Alexander on Nov. 6 and Ann Pugh on Nov. 9. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for the family of Vickie Barker Broadwell and continue prayers for Lisa Bishop, Amanda Johnson, Linda and Robert Johnson, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Agnes and Robert Smith, Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Ashley Pugh, Ann Pugh, Emily Freeman, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Loretta Plunk, Vicki Dickson, Anita Needler, Sherry Webb, Jean Pickett, Tim Harris, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, James Vinson, Jimmy Robertson, Rick Ooley, Mike Pugh, Mike Finley, Lee Trice, Clint Murley, those who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board, our county, country and, as always, each other.
