Hello from Enville! I hope everyone is having a great week! I am so ready for the rain and thunderstorms to move on out of here. It is so wet, and we do not have time to mow the grass between rain and storms. I think it is going to be cooler with lots of sunshine on the agenda for the rest of this week and part of next week.
Well, August is half gone already, and Labor Day is fast approaching. It will probably come and go like a whirlwind, too; then, autumn will not be far behind. Around here, we all call it Fall. I love everything about it - the temperatures, the colors and the decorations.
School is in full swing. I guess everyone has adjusted well. College students have pretty much gotten moved in and will begin classes soon. I am praying for a good year for all. Our granddaughter, Reece Collins, is busy playing Junior High softball. They are off to a great start. Congratulations on your wins. Our grandson, Blake Thompson, is busy with football. We love watching them on the fields doing what they love! We enjoyed the football jamboree last Friday night. Congratulations to all Chester County teams on their wins!
The Enville Wild Goose Shindig is from 4-8 p.m. Aug. 26. There will be barbeque pork, chicken and bologna, hamburgers and hotdogs, shaved ice, a cakewalk (cake donations are welcome), corn hole tournament, silent auction, music by BoJack Killingsworth and a 50/50 drawing. Everyone come out and support the Enville Volunteer Fire Department and Enville Community Club.
Happy birthday wishes go to Mike Mooney on Aug. 21. Also, happy anniversary to Mike and Marilyn as well on this day. We hope you enjoy your special day.
Please continue prayers for Lisa Bishop, Robert and Linda Johnson, Sherry Webb, Agnes and Robert Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Nicole Thompson, Emily Freeman, Ashley Pugh, Ann Pugh, Max and Jean Pickett, Loretta Plunk, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, James Vinson, Jimmy Robertson, Rick Ooley, Mike Pugh, Tim Harris, Mike Finley, Lee Trice, Bryce Finley, those who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board, our county and country and, as always, each other.
If you have news to share, call me at 608-3058, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat Cates at 688-5125.
This is the day that the Lord has made; rejoice and be glad in it. Have a blessed week everyone!
