Hello from Enville! I hope everyone is enjoying your week. The temperatures are hot, and I think this week will be dry for the most part. The hay farmers have been cutting, raking and bailing around our place. It looks like it yielded well. I surely hope when the harvest comes for other crops that they do just as well. So much money and hard work goes into the planting and maintaining these crops.
School has been in session for a week now. I hope all students and faculty are settling into a routine, and the kiddos are ready to learn. It is a big adjustment after their summer vacation!
The annual Enville Wild Goose Shindig will be from 4-8 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Enville Community Center. There will be barbecue pork, chicken, bologna, hamburgers, hotdogs and ice cream. There will also be a silent auction, cakewalk and live music by the Wayne Whitten Band. Everyone is invited to join in on the delicious food and activities!
Happy birthday wishes goes to Christopher Canaday on Aug. 16, and happy anniversary to Don and Frances Willis on Aug. 17. We hope y’all enjoy your special day!
I have a praise! My sister Joan, whom I have had on our prayer list, got a good report from her pet scan, and she is cancer free! Thanks everyone for prayers. Please continue to pray for Harold Maness, Robert Smith, Robert Johnson, Tommy and Linda Wade, James Vinson, Harold and Carolyn Wright, Rick and Julie Ooley, Mary Lou Avent, Ann Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Kaye Killingsworth, baby Maven Vaughn, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board, our county and country, all who have lost loved ones and, as always, each other.
If you have news, church activities or someone to add to the prayer list, call me at 608-3058, or to rent the community center, call Pat Cates at 688-5125 or 244-1993.
