Hello from Enville! I hope you all are having a great week. The temperatures are warmer this week. It is nice after the week we had with all the snow and ice. We may have some rain later in the week, but, if the temperatures stay warm, it should not be bad.
Sorry I did not have any news last week. I spent the day with sister in Mississippi. She is not feeling well. So happy belated birthday to Delana O’Neal on Feb. 6, Annie Beth Ashbrook on Feb. 8, Keith Middleton on Feb. 10 and Cameron Finley on Feb. 11. We hope you all enjoyed your special day!
Keep in mind, everyone, that Valentine’s Day is this Saturday. Get those chocolates, roses, covered strawberries, cards or whatever you do for your sweetheart. A nice dinner at your favorite restaurant is always great! Valentine’s is a day of love, so show your love to your valentine
President’s Day is Monday, Feb. 16. It is a U.S. federal holiday, officially called Washington’s Birthday, but popularly recognized as commemorating all U.S. Presidents. Some will have the day off, and schools will be out, so enjoy your day!
Wednesday, Feb. 18, is Ash Wednesday. It is the first day of Lent, the seven weeks of prayer, fasting and almsgiving before the arrival of Easter. Many churches will have an Ash Wednesday service for you to attend if you desire.
Happy birthday wishes go to Mildred Goodwin on Feb. 12, Michael Frank on Feb. 14 and Tony Murphy on Feb. 18. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for Harold Maness, Robert Johnson, Mary Lee Guyon, Mary Lou Avent, Ann Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Kaye Killingsworth, Nancy Philyaw, Tommy and Linda Wade, James Vinson, Rick and Julie Ooley, Mike Lott, Mike Finley, Joan Massey (my sister), our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board, our county and country and, as always, each other.
If you have news or someone to add to the prayer list, call me at 608-3058, or to rent the community center, call Pat Cates at 688-5125 or 244-1993. Have a blessed week everyone!
