Hello from Enville! It is hot this week, the hottest of the summer so far. Heat indexes are well over 100, but the end of the week may be getting a little cooler. Please be careful if you work out in the heat. It is dangerous. We need rain so badly. It is so dry. The crops and gardens are suffering!
July has flown by, and August is almost here, which means our Enville-Wildgoose Shindig is in a few weeks. It will be from 4-8 p.m. Aug. 23. We will have good food, fellowship and some great entertainment. Lakelin Lemmings will be performing her awesome songs. She is a very talented hometown young lady who has signed with Nashville’s Stone Records. We are very proud to have her with us! We will be serving up barbecue pork, chicken and bologna, hamburgers and hotdogs. A silent auction, cakewalk and 50/50 drawing will be going on as well. Please come and join us!
School is starting on Friday for some, and Monday will be the first full day for all students. This summer break passed very quickly. I hope everyone had a fun and safe vacation, but it is time to get back to learning. We are praying for a blessed school year for everyone!
Happy birthday wishes go to Mark Needler on Aug. 1, Rebecca Ashbrook and Thomas Gilham on Aug. 2, Harold Finley on Aug. 3 and Wanda Finley on Aug. 6. Happy anniversary to Jim and Donna Wade on Aug. 1 and Doyle and Shirley Bishop on Aug. 4. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Our pray list for this week is Mary Lee Guyon, Mary Lou Avent, Robert Smith, Robert Johnson, Harold Maness, Nancy Philyaw, Reece Collins, Ann Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Kaye Killingsworth, Shirley Bishop, Tommy Wade, James Vinson, Jimmy Robertson, Jeff Finley, Glenn Butts, Karl Starnes, Randall Weeks, Mike Finley, the family of Keith Henry, all who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board, our county and country and, as always, each other.
