Eaglettes open season with win over USJ

The Chester County Eaglettes opened the 2026 softball season Tuesday night with a 14-5 win over University School of Jackson.
Chester County got on the board in the bottom of the first inning when Jillian Patterson lifted a sacrifice fly to bring home the game’s first run.
The Eaglettes took control of the game in the third inning. Reece Collins drove in a run with a single, Brentlee Burgess followed with a two-run double, and Karsyn Knipper added an RBI single to put Chester County back in front.
Chester County broke the game open in the fourth inning, scoring seven runs on six hits. Knipper delivered one of the biggest hits of the inning with a two-run double after battling through a long at-bat.
Addison Newland had a perfect night at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a double and three singles to lead the Eaglettes’ 15-hit performance. Burgess drove in four runs and finished 2-for-3, while Collins and Knipper each collected multiple hits.
Addy Parker earned the win in the circle, allowing just one run over three innings while striking out four. Kymber Martin started the game for Chester County.
The Eaglettes will continue their early-season schedule later in the week.
