The Chester County High School volleyball team put together a memorable run in last week’s district tournament, fighting through three nights of tough competition to finish as district runner-up.
Quarterfinals – vs. Liberty
The Eaglettes got things rolling Tuesday night with a statement win over Liberty. From the opening serve, Chester County controlled every point, cruising to a straight-set victory — 25-3, 25-10, and 25-4 — to move into the semifinals.
Semifinals – vs. McNairy Central
Wednesday’s semifinal matchup against McNairy Central had fans on their feet. The two teams traded sets, each rallying with big plays and momentum swings throughout the night. The Eaglettes showed their trademark toughness, grinding out a fifth-set win 15-8 to take the match 25-22, 23-25, 25-23, 25-27, and 15-8. The victory punched Chester County’s ticket to the district championship.
Championship – vs. Lexington
Thursday’s title match against Lexington was another battle from start to finish. After dropping the opening set 19-25, the Eaglettes stormed back with energy and confidence to take the next two, 25-18 and 25-13. The crowd could feel the intensity as both teams traded points in the final sets. Lexington managed to pull away late, winning 25-20 and 15-10 to capture the championship.
After the final whistle, Head Coach Emily Ellis reflected on her team’s effort with pride.
“We worked hard every step of the way for this tournament,” Ellis said. “We fought every step of the way to earn our spot. I am so proud of these girls, and I hope we can keep rolling!”
