Eagles finish the run, claim district tournament championship

Posted

After everything they went through to get there, Chester County made sure it ended the right way.
The Eagles capped off an emotional and hard-fought tournament run Monday night with a 6-0 win over Lexington to claim the district tournament championship after already winning the regular season title.
Just two days removed from battling through a weekend that tested them in every way, Chester County delivered one of its most complete performances of the season when it mattered most.
The Eagles wasted no time setting the tone. Chester County scored two runs in the first inning and added three more in the second, building an early lead and never looking back.
On the mound, Tage Hill was in control from the start. The left-hander worked 6.1 innings and allowed just one hit while keeping Lexington off balance all night. Landon Langford came on in relief to record the final two outs and secure the shutout.
The pitching effort was backed by clutch at-bats.
Ethan Rhodes led the way with two RBIs, while Lane Estes added a hit and drove in a run. Jaden Weaver contributed a hit, and the Eagles drew some walks and kept pressure on Lexington throughout the night.
RJ Patel added a solo home run in the sixth inning to stretch the lead and put an exclamation point on the win.
Defensively, Chester County was solid behind its pitching staff, making the routine plays when it mattered most.
Lexington managed just one hit on the night and never found a rhythm against Hill and Langford.
But for Chester County, this championship was about more than just one game.
It was the result of a weekend that included a walk-off win, a tough loss, a scary injury and a response that showed what this group is made of.
Through it all, the Eagles kept showing up.
And on Monday night, they finished it—together.
Chester County also received good news earlier in the day as Braylin Robinson underwent surgery and is recovering. Robinson shared that he is doing well, dealing with only a slight headache, a positive update that made the celebration even more meaningful for the Eagle community.
