Chester County’s Dixie Youth Ponytails (12u) received the Sportsmanship Award at the Dixie Youth World Series in North Carolina. The trophy was presented Friday, August 14, in Chester County by Dixie Softball’s Jim Williams.
“This award represents so much more than wins and losses,” team coaches remarked. “It reflects the way these girls carried themselves on and off the field—with respect, kindness, teamwork, encouragement, and heart. They competed with class, supported one another, respected their opponents and officials, and represented Chester County, Tennessee in the best way possible.
“A special thank you goes to our amazing parents, families, and fans. Your encouragement from the stands, your positive attitudes, and the way you cheered not only for our team but also respected the game helped create an environment these girls could be proud to be a part of. This award belongs to all of us because the example set by our supporters is just as important as the example set on the field.
“To our players, thank you for showing that great character and a positive attitude are just as important as talent. You have made your families, coaches and our entire Tennessee community incredibly proud.”
