It is such a great time of the year! If you can, get out and enjoy this great weather! I usually walk at Chickasaw in the spring and fall, but with all that is going on with me, I doubt I will get to before bad weather.
Happy birthday to Allyson Enfinger on Oct. 4 and Alleigh Brown, Elizabeth Hopper and Judy Concialdi on Oct. 10. Alleigh is married, living in Nashville now and has her own beautiful baby.
Continue to pray for Woodie Deming, Joyce Stewart, Kirsten Jones and me. I will have surgery on Oct. 10. I may end up having to lay on my stomach again for two weeks. So you see I need more prayers! Thank you!
Pray for all our government county and national offices and our first responders, law enforcement and military! Pray for all sick, shut-ins, nursing home folks and ones who have lost loved ones.
Our sincere condolences to Joe Holder and family who lost his wife Glenda Jean King Holder this past Saturday. She grew up in Deanburg and was one of the prettiest, sweetest girls I remember. She always had a smile on her face all through her life!
Our devotion: “Numbered And Known” – “‘And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.’ (NLT) (Luke 12:7)
“The picture the Bible paints for us is one that lets us know without a shadow of a doubt that we are known, we were made for a plan and a purpose, and God desires salvation for every person. Let’s find rest in these promises and pray these verses over our loved ones! God knows us best and loves us with a fierce and powerful love.” - www.jctrois.com
I had a call this week for my help from Mifflin. In the county commissioners meeting a couple of weeks ago, Scott McCaskill requested the board consider the change of wording of a resolution which prohibits the retail sale of packaged beer within 2,000 feet of a school or church building to read 500 feet. A motion was made by Dwight Bingham and seconded by Brenda Matthews to proceed; however, the motion was tabled with a motion by Ricky Hardy and seconded by Jerry King until the next meeting to provide time to discuss the decision with area residents with a 16/1 vote, Al McKinnon voting no. (Copied from the article from the Independent 09/21/23 to insure accuracy.) If this happens in Mifflin, it could affect all of our communities. If you are against this change in the resolution, please call Mayor Hutcherson and all of the commissioners.
Have a blessed week! My number is 879-9777 to add to our column.
