Good morning from Deanburg! Since I missed a few weeks, I have to catch up.
Chester County is a great place to live, as I am sure you will agree. Anytime there is a need, people show up. Thank you to all the first responders; Southwest Electric; firefighters; Rescue Squad; ambulance attendants; county road workers; Sheriff department; all individuals who carried people to warm shelters; and men who cut trees out of roads and cleared driveways and sidewalks, all without pay or a thank you. Deanburg residents are saying a BIG thank you now.
We are wishing a belated birthday to great-grandson Rhett Oliver Brewer, Jan. 25; Kaitlyn Thomas, Jan. 26; Anna Faith Howell and Billy May Mayo, Jan. 27; Mary Jane Harris, Feb. 2; Joe Gilchrist, Feb. 4; Megan Barnett and granddaughter Raghen Morton, Feb. 6; Bobby Tulley, Ashley Fish and Alligrace Howell, Feb. 8; Carolyn Goff, Feb. 9; Brady Wells and Leah Lemons, Feb. 12; Garret Romero and great-grandson Shane Carter, Feb. 14; Jamie Hopper, Feb. 15; Tina Cupples, Feb. 16; Riot Burkeens, Feb. 16; Norma Tulley, Feb. 18; and Avis Bell, Feb. 22.
Happy Anniversary to Ricky and Tina Cupples, Feb. 16.
On the prayer list are the families who have lost loved ones. During December and January, there were eight deaths of Deanburg residents or closely related to residents – a lot of close friends. It was such a sad period. Also, pray for Rachel and Hunter Garrity and grandparents Thomas and Cindy Leech in the passing of Charlie. There is nothing worse than the loss of a child. Our love goes out to our neighbors!
Prayers for those who are not feeling well or are having health issues, Shirley Mainers, JoLiene Harris, De Rogers, Kenneth Twyman, Sandra Landers, Mark and Renee Landers, Bill and Lisa Cox, Ann and Jerry Lowe, Jerry Greene, Dixie Mays, Bill Tulley, Stephanie and Darren Hatch, Walker Cupples, Tony Concialdi, Ikie Cupples, Tammy Mayo, Buddy Loflin, Orban and Carolyn Goff, Kelly Concialdi, Kathy Griffin, Titus James, Cora Rose, Taryn Collins, Ann Lowrance, Jery Hemby, Heather Ross, David Gilchrist, Jeremy Howell, Keith Reynolds, Colton Hayes, Monica Payne, Chelsea Rodriguez and Anactasia Chrisman.
The Deanburg Community Club finally met on Feb. 10. The Feb. 3 meeting had been postponed due to weather. There were several members present. We sure would like for more in the community to get involved. A motion was made to leave the officers as they are; the motion passed. Our volunteer firefighters were busy making calls or working on trucks. There was a house fire in the community. We voted to give a donation to help them.
Shane Burkeens is still president. Call him at 608-7262 to rent the building.
