Renee Croom, of Chester County, pictured center, was recently selected by her peers as Teacher of The Year at South Elementary. “Mrs. Croom inspires her students to think critically every day and helps them to develop a love of learning,” said Scott Nelson, South Elementary Principal, pictured at left. “Great school systems are built on the strength of great teachers,” said board member James William Johnson, pictured at right. “These educators represent the very best of Jackson‑Madison County Schools, and Renee Croom is a great example. While their backgrounds vary in terms of their path to education, their commitment to students, their craft, and our communities makes a lasting difference, not just in classrooms, but across our district. As we continue to elevate our culture of excellence, JMCSS remains committed to attracting the best educators in West Tennessee through competitive salaries, strong employee benefits, and wellness initiatives like WeCARE.”
