Hello to everyone! For this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. I am so blessed to be with you one more time. I hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather.
Well, fall is here, and we welcome you! This is my favorite time of the year. It is great to see the fall decorations – the pumpkins, scarecrows, bales of straw, corn stalks and mums. They are so beautiful this time of the year. I love to drive around to see your decorations, and one thing about the beautiful fall decorations is that you can use them in September, October and November!
The city of Henderson would like to say Happy Wedding Anniversary to Mrs. Linda Curry and her husband Mr. John Curry on Sept. 25. They have been together many years! Congratulations! Like I always say, “Keep the honey in the moon!” One more thing about this lovely couple, Linda also celebrated her birthday on Sept. 25! Now John, I hope you purchased more than one gift and you did not end up in the “dog house” on your anniversary!
The city of Henderson would like to say Happy Birthday to the Croom family – Tonia Croom on Sept. 20, Sandra Croom on Sept. 24, Renee Croom on Sept. 25 and Ethel Croom on Sept. 26. Also, Janet Beaver will celebrate her birthday on Sept. 27, and Angela Huddleston celebrates on Sept. 28. May the Lord keep on blessing all of you!
On Sept. 21, the Brown brothers and sisters gave one of their sisters a surprise birthday celebration party. Sylvia Brown Flowers was blessed to turn 63 years young on Sep. 19. Oh, how time flies by! We had a wonderful time! It was a blessing for us just to be together! Some of you may remember one of my younger brothers, Danny Brown. It has been 10 years since the Lord called our brother home. We miss him greatly. Now, my two sisters, three brothers and I are trying to spend more family time together as we get older. When a family prays, plays and loves each other, they will stay together!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!

Hello to all from this little corner of the world. Sunday was the first day of fall. I am really looking forward to this season. Of course, winter is pretty in its own way. I enjoy some parts of all the seasons. We bought some beautiful mums, but they will be in pots. We are beginning to plan things easier and simpler. We continue to have one or two hummers visiting. It was 90 degrees and felt like 97 degrees on Sunday. We have a pleasant week ahead with rain expected on Tuesday and Thursday and possibly other days to follow. Does that mean they really do not know? The temperatures will be in the 70s. YAY! I am also not sure if we will mow again. The soybeans across from us have been harvested. The sky was light blue with white clouds on Sunday and a slight breeze was noted at times.
We enjoyed our monthly Friendship Community Club meeting this past Friday. We had a very good crowd of 19. Welcome to Kathy and Terry and Jerry and Jean. There was plenty of delicious food, and, believe it or not, there were no duplicates on the foods. We enjoyed playing cards afterwards. It is good to kick back and enjoy socializing with neighbors and friends, Studies show that socializing helps with longevity. We would love for you to come the third Friday of each month and have fun. We have potluck at 6 p.m. and play afterwards. If you enjoy another game, we are open to those – Dominoes, Rook, Scrabble, etc.
Friendship Baptist Church will have its quarterly potluck/singing at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, in the fellowship hall. If you love to sing and enjoy visiting with others, please come and enjoy the evening meal with us.
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones.
I do not know why people have to drive like they are in a race. On Sunday, on the way to church, a black car, like a Camaro, was coming down the hill in the curve on our side at a high rate of speed. He was on our side and had to yank his car to the right and back left to stay on the road and avoid us. Then, he floored it! He will either kill himself or someone else, and I hope if they live they can find peace if they take a life – all for the fun of speed! Children live on that road. Of course, they do not care, or they would not drive like this on community roads.
Happy Belated anniversary to Cissy and Tom Nichols, 9-19. I am sorry I did not have it in last week’s column. I do not know how I missed it. Hope you are both doing well.
Happy birthday to Chris Cooper, Barry Ward and Carey Barham, 9-23; Elizabeth, 9-26; Benjamin Brewer, Jeff Weir and Donna Dickey, 9-27; Elaine Bozza and Jeff Smith, 9-28; Kenneth Maness and Clint Barham, 9-29; and Kyle Cupples and Mike Young, 9-30.
Happy anniversary Nicki and Kirk Bray, 9-22, and Teresa and Thomas Gaugh, 9-28.
Please continue to remember these in prayer: Wesley Bates, Paula Berry, Marie Bishop, Waylon Bishop, Regina Brooks, Georgia Burkeen, J.T. and Jeannette Butler, Jackie Chambers, Rickey Clayton, Pat and Paul Coleman, Joie Freeman, Jennifer Gateley, Carolyn Goff, Bro. Glen and Judy Harris, Joey Harris, LaDawn Hayes, Danny Hodges, Brenda Hopper, Larry Johnson, Eva Jones, Mark Lenow, Doris McKinney, Martha Mainord, Brianne Locke Matheney, Deana Morris, Darryl Newsom, Glenda Parchman, Julia Parchman, James Parrish, Beth Plunk, Trudy Powers, Pam Priddy, Ridge Ray, Todd Rencher, Donald and Doris Rowlett, Mollie Russell, Brenda Seaton, Nona Seaton, Dyke Sells, Cathy Sisson, Jacob Thomas, Kevin Thurman, Lee Trice, Tony Tucker, Cammi Walls.
Also, pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and first responders.

I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.

Hello from Enville and hello, Fall! Another month that felt like it just started is nearing its end. Time is really getting away from us! We had a dry week last week. The farmers were able to get back in the fields and start harvesting again, but this week, the forecast is showing rain. Not having to sit in the rain at the football game last Friday night was nice, and we got a win! I really hope it is not raining this Friday night.
We want to congratulate Bristol Cherry during the Fair Show Season. She has worked hard this summer, conditioning her show calf. Last weekend at the Hardin County Fair, she was Showmanship Champion and Reserve Champion Hereford. She has attended several county fairs and also played softball. We are always proud of our youth and their accomplishments! Congrats, Bristol!
The Enville Volunteer Fire Department will have their annual fish fry and cakewalk beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the community center. There will be fish or chicken plates available and all you can eat for dine in. Please come out and enjoy!
Enville sends out Happy Birthday wishes to Nicholas Maness on Sept. 28, and our granddaughter, Reece Collins, Shirley Bishop and Matthew Maness on Oct. 3. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for the family of Margie Alexander and continue prayers for Robert and Linda Johnson, Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Emily Freeman, Agnes and Robert Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Ann Pugh, Shirley Bishop, Kaye Killingsworth, Mary Lou Avent, Bonnie Johnson, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Janice Massengill Strickland, Mildred Goodwin, James Vinson, Jimmy Robertson, Jeff Finley, Rick Ooley, Mike Pugh, Glenn Butts, Mike Finley, Justin Godsey, Lee Trice, all who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board, our county and country and, as always, each other.
If you have news, call me at 608-3058, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat Cates at 688-5125 or 315-8062.
Have a blessed week everyone!

It’s BBQ Festival time again. Hope to see everyone coming out to support our community. Please pray that the rain that is predicted for Friday and Saturday lets up and allows this to be a great time for everyone.
We appreciate all our members at the center and would love for more of our community to get involved. With more help, we could plan more events for our community.
This year will be an election year for the history books. Our local governmental meetings are in need of more community support. If you care about Chester County, please pay attention to what is taking place in our county and come out and show your interest. Everyone should be mindful of what is going on in our country and care enough to help make a difference. The only way you have a say is to get out and vote in November. I challenge all of Chester County registered voters to vote. Chester County residents need to show what they stand for. I do believe that Christians should definitely speak out by standing up for their beliefs.
Montezuma sends out Happy Birthday wishes to Linda Emerson and Bethany Moore on Sept. 26, Doug Thomas on Sept. 27, Aiden Atkins on Sept. 28 and William Atkins on Oct. 2.
Membership dues are $25 after your first initial year of joining and they are due for this current year. Membership dues need to be paid now to be considered an active member. We also take donations. Payments can be mailed to Edith Sills at 4475 Sunshine Rd, Henderson, TN 38340. Call Ann Moore at 731-608-2033 or myself if you have any new ideas for the center or wish to get involved. People who want to rent the community center should contact Betty Cooper at 879-9078 for booking. We ask those renting our facility to please follow our rules and show respect for the building. We try to keep it in the best order possible and it takes everyone cooperating to make that happen. If you care about this community, please get involved in what is taking place to continue to grow our county and make it a better place to live and raise a family. Get to know what is changing in our local government, schools, churches and communities through the news, friends, your church, teachers, etc., and if it matters to you, there are ways to help make things better.
There is much spiritual warfare with society accepting things that go against who God is and what HIS laws are that we are to follow. Every day of life has its challenges, but if we look to God for the right path, it can be a good one. Enjoy what time you have with your creator, your family and friends. Please be in prayer for our local government, federal government, law enforcement, school staff, teachers and the listed individuals of Sherry Cook, Dot Smith, Mike Lott, Linda Hopper, Cindy Kilzer, Quinten Johnson, Connie Dunn, Donna Doyle, Norma Sue Kitchen, Jerry Fletcher, Janice Schultz, Bobbie Bethune, Mark Hall, Curtis Morrison, Renee Jordan, Ruby Hannah, Donnie Brooks, Linda Plunk, Lee Trice, Mike Tedford, Sherry Fletcher, Chuck Beacham, Sandra Lott, Faye Crouse, Janice Morris, Jeanette Walker, Paul Schilling, Nancy Crouse and others that are sick or healing. We especially want to remember the families of John Mashburn, Odell Hatch, Ryan Mills, Laverne Connor and other families that have recently lost loved ones.
I am always looking for noteworthy news to share in this column. Please send to gaylescox1977@gmail.com or text me at 608-2857. As always, I am wishing a very blessed week to all you readers. Until next time!
