Greetings! I am glad to be with you for another week. It is only by the grace of our Lord and Saviour. For this is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it! Since the last time we were together, there has been so much destruction and hate in the U.S.A. and around the world. So, no matter what is going on in our/your life today, look around and realize you/we are blessed!
Fall is here! Tuesday Sept. 22, was the first day of fall. This is my favorite time of the year! I am looking forward to seeing all of the beautiful fall decorations in the city!
On Sept. 19, we celebrated a young woman’s birthday; some of you may know her very well, Mrs. Sylvia Flowers. This young woman is the owner of “Tender Loving Child Care Center.” She is the wife of Apostle Marles Flowers and mother of 12 children. She is the District Missionary for the Jackson Central Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ. She is one of the Chester County Election Commissioners for the Democratic Party. This little woman loves the Lord and people. The city of Henderson would like to say thank you for all you have done and all you do for the city of Henderson. Happy 65 years on this earth! Just think – this year you will be able to join the big leagues and receive your RED, WHITE and BLUE card! If we still have it!
City of Henderson, please pray for Mrs. Shirley Wilson’s brother Robert. He was in the hospital, but he is out and doing a little better. We need to pray that Robert will get strong in his body and that the Lord will heal him completely from his head to his toes in Jesus’s Name! Amen! Keep the whole family in prayer!
I have another family we need to pray for as well. This family lives in Jackson. The family name is Stackens-Barnes. Pray for the healing of the loss of their mother, sister, grandmother, auntie and friend. This young woman was only 46 years old! This young woman grew up with my children in the Church. We had the going home celebration for Shaska Moneak Stackens-Barnes Saturday, Sept. 19. Lord, comfort this family and all who are grieving; give them strength when their hearts are heavy, peace when they feel overwhelmed and faith when they do not understand and Lord will keep them during this time of their life.
Here is a little reading that I love, and I would like to share it with you. “God, soothe us with Your love. Protect us from bitterness. Show us when it is time to wisely guard our hearts and when we are to keep our arms stretched open wide just as You did when You died for us.” Amen!
On the birthday list this week: a big Happy Birthday to Larry Locke, 9/30. He is proud to be 77 years young! This is a man that loves the Lord! He is the proud husband of the late Margaret Locke. Larry, we love you, and to God be the Glory, you are still moving and looking good. Your daughter, family and friends are praying that the Lord will bless you with many more! Have a blessed birthday!
Happy belated birthday to Latonia Croom, 9/20; John Curry, 9/23; my dear friend Ethel Croom, 9/26; and Linda Curry, 9/26. May the Lord keep on blessing you to see many more years!
Remember to keep praying for our loved ones that are in the hospitals, for the ones that are sick in their homes, for our children, teachers, families and for the men and women that are serving our country. Please patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us try to support our own as much as we can. If you live in the City of Henderson and have news about your family, birthday, anniversary, announcements, and things happening in the City, I need to hear from you. Text me at 608-6132 and leave your message. I would like to say thank you to the ones that are calling and emailing me with your news. Keep it up and send me more.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK! LOVE YOU!
