Chester County held local primary elections Tuesday to determine ballot entries for local races in the upcoming August 6 election. Tuesday’s ballot allowed voters an opportunity to indicate their selection for County Commissioner and School Board – both by district, as well as County Mayor, County Clerk, Register of Deeds, Road Superintendent, County Trustee and Circuit Court Clerk. While many votes would be tallied as votes of confidence, two of the county’s 10 precincts featured contested races – those for County Commissioner in Districts One and Four, both on the Republican ticket. Results and voting numbers were not available at press time on Tuesday. According to Administrator of Elections Kathy Vest, voter turnout has been very low thus far in this election cycle. Results will be posted online and included in next week’s newspaper.
