On Monday, April 20, it was a big day for Chester County tennis as both the boys’ and girls’ teams captured district championships with wins over Lexington.
The Chester County boys secured the team title behind strong performances from Landon Ketchum, Cooper Sparks, Elijah Hardin and Caden Coats. The Eagles played steady throughout, finishing off Lexington to bring home the championship.
On the girls’ side, Abbie Greene, Camryn Connor, Gentry White and Roma Gandhi led the way as the Lady Eagles defeated Lexington to claim their district title.
With the championships in hand, both teams now turn their focus to regional play. The Lady Eagles will travel to Union City on Thursday, April 30, with the Eagles set to follow on Friday, May 1.
Individual District Tournament
Chester County continued its strong postseason showing during Friday and Monday’s Individual District Tournament, with multiple players advancing and the boys’ singles bracket producing an all-Chester County finals matchup.
In boys singles, teammates Landon Ketchum and Cooper Sparks each won their semifinal matches to set up a head-to-head championship. Ketchum claimed the district title, while Sparks finished as runner-up.
The Eagles also saw success in doubles play, where Caden Coats and Chase Wells captured the boys’ doubles district championship.
On the girls’ side, Abbie Greene and Camryn Connor added to the program’s success by winning the girls’ doubles district title.
With team and individual success across the board, Chester County will look to carry that momentum into regional competition in Union City later this week.
