Absentee ballots available for May election

Chester County will be heading to the polls soon for local primaries ahead of the fall 2026 general elections. Voter registration deadline is April 6 to vote in primaries. The window is now open to request absentee ballots by mail. Contact the Chester County Election Office at 989-4039 for more information.
Offices on the ballot for the May 5 Democratic and Republican Primary Elections include Chester County Mayor, all Chester County Commissioners (two per district), Trustee, County Clerk, Register of Deeds, Circuit Court Clerk, Road Superintendent, Sheriff and School Board Members (Districts 1, 2 and 6). Early voting will be April 15-30. The top two candidates for each party will join Independent candidates on Chester County’s August 6 General ballot.
The following candidates have qualified to run. Republican and Democratic candidates will appear on their respective Primary ballot:
Circuit Court Clerk: Justin Emerson, R, incumbent
County Clerk: Stacy Smith, R, incumbent
County Commission:

The Aug. 6, 2026 General Election ballot will include Henderson Aldermen (three seats), Enville City Mayor and Enville Aldermen (three seats). The qualifying deadline is noon, March 10. Those who have picked up patitions include: Enville Mayor: Melinda Johnston, N, incumbent; Enville Alderman: Kaye Ritter, N, incumbent; Nickalaus Weatherington, N
State general elections are slated for Nov. 3.
