Born to Winston Anderson and Glenda Ann Jones, whose spirits continue to guide her (us), Willie Sue rose like a phoenix from Hillview Manor and the divine pews of Lucyville Church of Christ to become a standout 1984 graduate of Chester County High. Her trajectory of excellence was cemented when she won the 1984 Miss Bronze West Tennessee Pageant—a victory sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., that provided the scholarship seed for her future success. From her honors at Freed-Hardeman and UT Knoxville to her resonant voice on 96 Kix under the legendary James “Super Wolf” Wolfe, as well as WUTK and KAZI 88.7 FM, she has transformed that initial investment into a career of profound global impact. Today, she is a powerhouse educator, published author and Director of Community Outreach in Austin, Texas. Though following her genius was a formidable challenge for her siblings, she inspired us to blaze our own paths while remaining our family’s pillar. Willie Sue, you are the ultimate return on investment and a living “Golden Deed”—we are so incredibly proud of you!
