2026 Elections candidate update

Chester County constituents are preparing for upcoming May and August 2026 elections.
Offices on the ballot for the May 5, 2026, Primary Elections are Chester County Mayor, all Chester County Commissioners (three per district), Trustee, County Clerk, Register of Deeds, Circuit Court Clerk, Road Superintendent, Sheriff and School Board Members (Districts 1, 2 and 6).
Voter registration deadline is April 6. Early voting will be April 15-30.
The Aug. 6, 2026 General election ballot will include Henderson Aldermen (three seats), Enville City Mayor and Enville Aldermen (three seats).
As of Tuesday, the following had picked up petition packets, with political party affiliation and qualifiers indicated:
Circuit Court Clerk: Justin Emerson, R, Qualified
County Clerk: Stacy Smith, R, Qualified
County Commission – District 1: Heather Carter, R; Bubba Edgin, R; Kevin Faulkner, I; Dexter Phillips, R; Joshua Roberts, R; Lonzo Taylor, R
County Commission – District 2: Al McKinnon, R, Qualified; Dwain Seaton, Sr, R
County Commission – District 3: Ann Moore, R; Buddy Richardson, I; Nathan Ward, R; Luke Weaver, R, Qualified
County Commission – District 4: Sheila Eckard, R, Qualified; Gloria Holiday, D
County Commission – District 5: Sylvia Flowers, D; Barry Smith, R
County Commission – District 6: Dane Burns, I; Richard Sides, I
County Mayor: Barry Hutcherson, R, Qualified
Register of Deeds: Jessica Acred, I, Qualified; Dorris Ethridge, R, Qualified; Irene Rinks, D

Qualifying petitions must be returned to the election office no later than noon on Feb. 19 for the May 5 Primary and by noon March 10 for the Aug. 6 General.
