Needing an understanding shoulder to lean on, Mary Randolph Curtis called to share she had lost a beloved pet. Sammie was a smart mixed breed of Heeler/Border Collie who died June 22.
With July 4th fast approaching, I would like to remind everyone to reflect on our right of Freedom. We need to say thanks to families and friends that have served our country and even those that have lost loved ones during times of war.
I hope you have all had a great week. We have sure had some strong rains, thunder and lightning. This week is supposed to be somewhat better with some cooler temperatures, humidity and spotty showers. I hope this week's weather helps the farmers out.

Today we celebrate the 159th birthday of the "Declaration of Independence" which was drawn up and signed by our notable forefather's on July 4, 1776.
Those who framed and signed this document were men of sterling character, possessing more than the average of sterling qualities, believing 100 percent in fair play to all.
